What it models ›

How it is checked

The figures are checked against Revenue's own examples, every statutory figure against its source, and every month of a traced life against the money that moved.

Revenue's own worked examples

Revenue's worked examples and its payroll worksheets are reproduced as tests, to the cent, and the free public calculators are used as cross-checks.

Every statutory figure, at its source

Every rate, band, credit and threshold the model uses is listed with the section of the Act that sets it, graded against its primary source, and updated within two weeks of each Finance Act.

Every month closes

The money that moved explains every balance in every month of a traced life, to under half a euro: checked by the tests, and shown in the month-by-month audit.

The month-by-month audit: every figure of one life, with its checks closing.
The month-by-month audit: every figure of one simulated life, every month, with its checks closing.

The verification pack

One simulated life, every tax in every month worked from the law and checked against the ledger, with a data file for a spreadsheet. The one charge it does not yet work line by line is the Fair Deal contribution.

A worked month of PAYE in the verification pack.
A month of PAYE in the pack, each step with its working and its section of the Act.

The same answer every time

Each run carries a fingerprint of its inputs, assumptions and engine, and a saved client file reproduces its run exactly. Every change to the model is checked against reference households before and after, and the tests themselves are checked by breaking what they guard. An independent review is planned.

Every page of the dashboard is in the demo, on example households, with their brief and pack.
