Can I change what I disagree with?
Yes, everything that is a judgement. Today's tax figures are the law's.
See it in Maeve and Ruairí's pack: Every answer their plan ran on › Each assumption, its source and what moves the chance ›
- The client's answers: every one is a box on the form, including how much they would cut back when money is tight and whether they would move home.
- A what-if: try any of the main choices against the plan as it stands, without changing the plan.
- Your firm's view of the future: share returns, inflation, interest rates, crises and lifespans, each value with its reason. Earlier versions are kept, and the pack lists each value beside the model's own.
- The law: today's tax and benefit figures cannot be edited, by design; they are updated within two weeks of each Finance Act, and the pack names each one's source. The form can test the law changing: freezing the tax bands, lowering the CAT thresholds, or letting CGT and exit-tax rates move in some futures.
